London Fashion Week AW17

LONDON FASHION WEEK AW17

AMERICANA, FEMALE POWER DRESSING AND MILITARY STYLING – LONDON’S AW17 COLLECTIONS WERE DECIDEDLY POLITICAL……

HOUSE OF HOLLAND
Henry Holland opted for flames, colourful cowboy boots and fringing, paying homage to retro Americana for his AW17 collection. TONI&GUY Int. Artistic Director Cos Sakkas carried the Western theme with the hair creating a retro roll prepped with plenty of label.m Volume Mousse before backcombing into position. The ends of the roll were secured in place with simple three strand braids before finishing with a spritz of label.m Rejuvenating Oil Mist for a glossy shine.

TATA NAKA

Rich emerald and cobalt tones offset Tata Naka’s tribal prints that took inspiration from Africa and its modern evolution. Hair was sleek and pulled into a strong ponytail that acted as a canvas for decorative floral detailing. To prepare hair, TONI&GUY Int. Artistic Director Cos Sakkas applied label.m Volume Mousse and blow-dried into the hairline to ensure a smooth base. A label.m Metal End Tail Comb was then used to create a ponytail, making sure it was completely knot free.

MARY KATRANTZOU
Intricately beaded dresses and velvet suits were the perfect accompaniment to Mary Katrantzou’s Disney Fantasia-themed collection. Hair was kept simple to show off the collection with TONI&GUY Int. Artistic Director Indira Schauwecker applying label.m Blow Out Spray to hair before blow drying into an uncomplicated centre parting. Lengths were tucked behind the ears and set with label.m Hairspray.

PAUL COSTELLOE
Games of Thrones met the Tudors as latex leggings and exaggerated sleeves were paired with heritage fabrics at Paul Costelloe – the uniform for today’s powerful woman. TONI&GUY’s Cos Sakkas sprayed hair with the Fashion Edition label.m Wax Spray and gently combed through for a sleek, even finish. A subtle quiff was constructed with ends tonged with the label.m Advanced Pro 19mm wand to add texture and movement.
